Crew Leader at HPM

The Crew Leader is a working leadership position. You will lead by example in the field, communicate the daily plan, support the crew, and take responsibility for job quality, productivity, safety, and equipment care.

What you'll do

Responsibilities

  • Lead and work alongside the crew on landscaping, property maintenance, construction, and snow-removal assignments.
  • Review the daily scope, materials, equipment, and job expectations before work begins.
  • Communicate assignments clearly and help the crew complete work safely and efficiently.
  • Inspect completed work and correct anything that does not meet HPM quality standards.
  • Maintain clean, organized trucks, trailers, equipment, tools, and job sites.
  • Report accidents, damage, equipment problems, safety concerns, and unexpected site conditions to management.

What you'll bring

Requirements

  • Relevant hands-on landscaping, property maintenance, construction, or outdoor project experience.
  • Ability to lead by example, communicate professionally, and keep a crew focused on the daily plan.
  • Dependable attendance and arrival prepared to begin work by 6:30 a.m., unless instructed otherwise.
  • A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to the designated reporting location.
  • Ability to safely perform physically demanding outdoor work and work 8–12-hour days when scheduled.
  • Willingness to follow company policies, safety procedures, equipment instructions, and job-site requirements.

Year-round field operations

Types of work you may perform

Assignments vary with company workload, season, weather conditions, and snow events.

  • Mowing, trimming, edging, blowing, and annual maintenance programs
  • Landscape cleanups, pruning, mulching, grading, planting, and sod installation
  • Landscape installations, demolition, construction support, and material handling
  • Fall cleanups, leaf removal, overseeding, fertilizing, and seasonal services
  • Snow and ice removal, equipment preparation, and authorized winter operations
  • Off-season equipment maintenance, shop organization, and assigned company work
