Position overview

Crew Member at HPM

The Crew Member is a hands-on field position. You will follow the Crew Leader’s and management’s instructions, work cooperatively with the team, and complete assigned work safely, efficiently, and according to HPM standards.

What you'll do

Responsibilities

  • Follow daily assignments and instructions provided by the Crew Leader and management.
  • Work cooperatively with the crew to complete landscaping, maintenance, construction, and seasonal services.
  • Ask questions when instructions or job expectations are unclear.
  • Use company vehicles, trailers, equipment, tools, and materials carefully and only as instructed.
  • Keep trucks, trailers, equipment, tools, job sites, and work areas clean and organized.
  • Immediately report accidents, injuries, damage, equipment problems, and safety concerns.

What you'll bring

Requirements

  • Dependable attendance and arrival prepared to begin work by 6:30 a.m., unless instructed otherwise.
  • A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to the designated reporting location.
  • Ability to safely perform physically demanding work outdoors in changing weather conditions.
  • Availability for 8–12-hour workdays when scheduled, unless management indicates otherwise.
  • Willingness to follow instructions, accept feedback, correct incomplete work, and learn new skills.
  • Professional and respectful communication with management, coworkers, customers, vendors, and contractors.

Types of work you may perform

Assignments vary with company workload, season, weather conditions, and snow events.

  • Mowing, trimming, edging, blowing, and annual maintenance programs
  • Landscape cleanups, bed edging, mulching, weed removal, pruning, and planting
  • Digging, grading, soil preparation, sod installation, and material handling
  • Construction-related demolition, installation assistance, and job-site cleanup
  • Fall cleanups, leaf removal, overseeding, fertilizing, and seasonal services
  • Snow and ice removal, equipment cleaning, maintenance, and off-season work
